Rescue Training Refresher – Course Content (1 Instructor)

Theoretical Part (approx. 3 hours):

  • Legal fundamentals
  • Personal protective equipment (PPE)
    • General PPE
    • Helmet, safety footwear, gloves, etc.
  • Personal fall protection equipment
    • Full-body harness
    • Shock absorbers (function, fall forces with/without shock absorber)
    • Lanyards
    • Guided type fall arresters on fixed and flexible lines
    • Ladder and fall-protection systems: design and function
    • Carabiners
    • Inspection, cleaning, and maintenance of PPE
    • Criteria for removal from service of harnesses, ropes, and helmets
  • Safe working in and on a wind turbine (WT)
  • Proper use of PPE
  • Safe behavior depending on the work location
    • Work inside the tower
    • Work inside the nacelle
    • Work on the roof of the nacelle
    • Work in a man basket
  • Behavior in exceptional weather conditions
    • Behavior after accidents
    • First aid
    • Suspension trauma
    • Countermeasures
    • Accident scenarios
    • Accident statistics
    • Accident case studies
  • Wind Turbine Emergency Information System (WT-NIS)

Practical Part (approx. 5 hours):

Pre-briefing

  • Travel to the wind turbine and general rules of conduct in the wind farm
  • Review: correct donning of the full-body harness and PPE

Rescue exercises:

  • Rescue from a ladder

Final Debriefing:

  • Participants’ questions
  • A few practical tips and recommendations

Target Group

Employees who are involved in work on wind turbines (WT) and who have already completed the initial safety training for working in and on wind turbines.

Duration and Costs

  • Duration: 1 day
  • Price: €1,950 / full course
  • €340 / individual participant (open course)
  • Currently, no catering is provided by Triowind

Cancellation Fees

For cancellations made up to 7 days before the scheduled training date, we charge 50% of the course fee. For cancellations made up to 2 days before the scheduled training date, the full price will be charged.
