Rescue Training Basic Course – Course Content

Day 1 – Theoretical Part

  • Introduction
  • Legal basics
  • Personal protective equipment (PPE)

    • Helmets

    • Protective footwear

    • Gloves, etc.

  • Personal fall protection equipment

    • Full-body harness

    • Shock absorbers (operation and fall forces with/without shock absorber)

    • Lanyards

    • Rope-guided fall arrest devices (fixed and mobile)

    • Fall-protection systems: design and function

    • Carabiners

    • Inspections

    • Cleaning

    • Maintenance of PPE

    • End-of-service life criteria for harnesses/ropes/helmets

  • Practical exercises:

    • Recognizing damaged PPE — each participant must be able to identify defective PPE

  • Safe work in and on a WEA
  • Correct use of PPE
  • Anchorage points
  • Safe behavior depending on the work location

    • Inside the tower

    • Inside the machine house

    • Spinner, rotor blades and associated areas

    • Outside on the tower

  • Special authorized work

    • Live electrical work

    • Switching medium-voltage systems

    • Work at control cabinets

  • Accidents and rescue

    • Rescue devices / abseil devices

    • Abseil devices with hoist function

    • Overview of rescue procedures

    • Rescue from ladders

    • Abseiling from machine house

  • Post-accident behavior

    • Reporting

    • First aid

    • Suspension trauma (countermeasures)

    • Accident statistics and case studies

    • Introduction to the Wind Turbine Emergency Information System (WEA-NIS)

Day 2 – Practical Part

Briefing

  • Travel to the wind farm and general behavior rules
  • Correct donning of harness and PPE

Practical exercises:

  • “Suspension exercise” test for all participants
  • Climbing and behavior inside the tower
  • Behavior when leaving ladders
  • Behavior inside the machine house
  • Explanation of emergency stop / shutdown
  • Safe conduct with open hatches
  • Instruction on access systems (if available)

Rescue drills:

  • Rescue from ladder
  • Abseiling from machine house

Final Debriefing:

  • Participants’ questions
  • A few practical tips and recommendations

Target Group

Employees who have not yet received safety training for working in and on wind turbines.

Duration & Costs

  • Duration: 2 days
  • Price: €3,200 / entire course
  • €475 / individual participant (open course)
  • Currently no catering provided by Triowind

Cancellation costs

For cancellations made up to 7 days before the scheduled training date, we charge 50% of the course fee. For cancellations made up to 2 days before the scheduled training date, the full price will be charged.
